We are partnering with a leading global law firm, known for working with high-profile international clients on complex and business-critical matters. With a strong presence across key financial centres, the firm offers a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where technology plays a central role in driving innovation and efficiency.
They are now seeking an experienced Senior SharePoint Developer & Administrator to join their London team.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on position combining SharePoint development, modernisation, and platform administration across both SharePoint Subscription Edition (on-prem) and SharePoint Online.
You will play a key role in transforming legacy environments, delivering modern intranet experiences, and ensuring the ongoing stability, performance, and security of enterprise SharePoint platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Modernisation
- Design and deliver custom SharePoint solutions across SharePoint SE and SharePoint Online
- Lead migration of SharePoint 2016 environments to modern platforms
- Redevelop legacy web parts using SPFx (SharePoint Framework)
- Build custom components using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and REST APIs
- Develop and enhance enterprise intranet platforms (architecture, navigation, branding)
- Integrate SharePoint with internal systems and third-party applications via Microsoft Graph and APIs
Administration & Operations
- Administer SharePoint environments (on-prem and cloud)
- Perform patching, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance
- Monitor performance, availability, and system health
- Manage permissions, authentication, governance, and compliance
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and troubleshooting
Integration & Data Connectivity
- Configure and manage Business Connectivity Services (BCS)
- Develop integrations with external data sources (e.g., SQL Server, web services)
- Ensure secure, scalable, and well-governed data connectivity
Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members
- Work closely with stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned to business needs
- Maintain clear documentation (architecture, runbooks, and processes)
- Recommend improvements to platform architecture and development standards
About You
- Extensive experience with SharePoint Online and SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE)
- Proven track record of migrating SharePoint 2016 environments
- Strong expertise in SPFx development and modern front-end technologies
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, HTML5, CSS3
- Experience integrating systems using REST APIs and Microsoft Graph
- Solid background in C#, .NET, and SQL Server
- Strong understanding of SharePoint governance, security, and authentication models
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Large-scale intranet design and delivery
- Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Azure services (Azure AD, Functions, App Services)
- Relevant Microsoft or SharePoint certifications
