Software Developer
We are currently recruiting for a Software Developer to join a growing business in Aberdeen. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team, developing and enhancing internal software platforms and business applications that support day-to-day operations. This role is being offered on a hybrid working basis, 3 days in the Aberdeen office and 2 days remote.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions, working closely with internal stakeholders and technical partners to deliver reliable, scalable and user-focused applications. This position would suit a skilled developer who enjoys problem solving, innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications using C# and .NET
- Building modern web applications and APIs using ASP.NET Core, JavaScript and React
- Developing backend services, RESTful APIs and system integrations
- Designing and optimising Microsoft SQL Server databases, queries and stored procedures
- Supporting application enhancements, troubleshooting and resolving software issues
- Working with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code and Git for development and version control
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions
- Supporting software deployments and ongoing system improvements
- Maintaining technical documentation and development standards
- Contributing to code reviews, testing and continuous improvement activities
The ideal candidate will have commercial experience in software development, with strong knowledge of C#, .NET, JavaScript and modern web technologies. Experience with ASP.NET Core, React, SQL Server, APIs and database development is essential.
You’ll be a proactive and analytical developer with strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a passion for learning new technologies and improving development practices.
