The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join us on a purely commission-based, freelance/contract basis. This is a high-reward role with uncapped earning potential – no fixed salary, meaning your income is directly tied to your results. Top performers in similar AI/tech sales roles can achieve £150,000+ OTE annually, depending on deal volume and value.

This remote/flexible role is ideal for self-starters based in the UK who thrive in a results-driven environment. You will be fully responsible for generating your own leads, actively pursuing them through the entire sales cycle, and closing deals for our bespoke AI web application development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate new leads independently through proactive prospecting in target sectors (e.g., finance, healthcare, retail, e-commerce, manufacturing) seeking AI-enhanced web applications.
  • Conduct targeted outreach via cold calling, LinkedIn, email campaigns, networking events, and other channels to qualify and nurture leads.
  • Pursue leads relentlessly: Build relationships, uncover client requirements for web-based AI solutions (e.g., intelligent dashboards, automated user experiences, personalised web platforms), handle objections, and manage the full sales funnel.
  • Present and demonstrate SAM AI Solutions' web application development capabilities, tailoring pitches to client pain points such as scalability, user engagement, data integration, and process automation.
  • Close deals: Negotiate terms, overcome final hurdles, and secure signed contracts for high-value AI web application projects.
  • Maintain a robust, self-built pipeline to ensure consistent lead flow and revenue generation.
  • Collaborate remotely with our technical team to align proposals with client requirements.
  • Track and report on all sales activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics.

To succeed in this 100% commission role, you must be a high-achiever with a demonstrated history of independently generating, pursuing, and closing deals. We are only interested in candidates who can hit the ground running and generate revenue quickly – this is not an entry-level or training position.

Essential:

  • Proven track record in end-to-end B2B sales/business development (lead generation → pursuit → closing), ideally in web application development, AI solutions, software, SaaS, or tech consulting (minimum 3-5 years).
  • Documented success in self-generating leads and closing high-value deals (£50k+ contract value), with references or evidence of past commissions/quotas exceeded.
  • Existing network of decision-makers (C-level executives, IT directors, digital transformation leads) in UK enterprises, plus the ability to build new pipelines from scratch.
  • Strong hunter mentality: Expertise in cold outreach, lead sourcing, persistent follow-up, and overcoming objections.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable in a high-risk/high-reward structure with no base salary.
  • Based in the UK with full eligibility to work as a freelancer/contractor.

Desirable:

  • Experience selling AI-powered web applications, custom software development, or related digital transformation services.
  • Familiarity with the UK tech ecosystem and enterprise sales cycles.
Compensation
  • 100% commission-based – generous rates on closed deals (details provided to shortlisted candidates; typically 15-25% of first-year contract value, plus potential residuals).
  • Uncapped earnings: Realistic £80k-£150k+ OTE for consistent closers who excel at lead generation, pursuit, and closing.
  • Paid promptly upon client invoice settlement.
