Business Support Administrator Apprentice

This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and reliable apprentice with excellent IT skills to join our team at Calder Grove, Wakefield, supporting our customers in using our bespoke software products and providing an excellent customer experience. All whilst working towards an Advanced Level 3 Business qualification.

Role

Operating within a fast-growing EdTech environment, the Business Support Administrator Apprentice will learn the skills needed to provide effective administrative support while helping the delivery team with their day-to-day work. The role includes supporting the onboarding of new education providers, responding to basic customer enquiries, keeping records up to date, and helping office processes run smoothly. Through this, the apprentice will play an important part in delivering a positive experience for our customers while developing valuable business administration skills.

Main duties and responsibilities after training:

Onboarding Support

  • Help set up new customers on the company's systems
  • Enter and check information using Microsoft Excel, internal systems and email
  • Make sure customer information is accurate and up to date

Helpdesk Administration

  • Answer telephone calls in a professional and friendly manner
  • Log customer enquiries and requests onto the company system
  • Pass enquiries to the correct team when needed

Issue Tracking & Escalation

  • Record software issues or faults reported by customers
  • Escalate urgent issues to the relevant team members
  • Help ensure issues are dealt with quickly

Office & Meeting Coordination

  • Prepare meeting rooms for meetings, training sessions and customer visits
  • Arrange refreshments when required
  • Help keep the office organised and running smoothly

Project Work & Continuous Improvement

  • Support projects that help improve business processes
  • Learn from colleagues and take on new responsibilities as your skills develop
  • Share ideas to help improve the way the team works

This is not an exhaustive list and responsibility will be increased as the business and individual grows.

Training

As a business administration apprentice, you will complete the following qualifications as part of your Apprenticeship:

  • Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard qualification
  • Level 2 Functional Skills maths and English if required
  • This apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace and 20% of your working time will be dedicated towards training and learning new skills
  • You will be allocated a tutor who will provide you with personal support and assessment at pre-arranged times
  • Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence and professional discussions
