Join the team at Scarisbrick Hall School as a Business Administration Apprentice. You will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, and visitors, providing administrative and customer service support, managing enquiries, assisting with reception and pupil services, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school.

Role

The Operational Support Apprentice is a key position within the operational team at Scarisbrick Hall. The role serves as the first point of contact for pupils and parents seeking support with a range of day-to-day issues, ensuring that family’s needs are met effectively and efficiently. The role combines administrative, well-being, and customer service duties, requiring a proactive, caring, and organised individual who can maintain a positive and supportive school environment. 

This position requires someone who can manage pupil services such as lost property, support with operational issues, provide quality customer service to our families, provide first aid, all while maintaining an approachable and calm manner to support the overall operations of the school community.

As an employer we will teach you how to complete the following tasks:

  • Provide administrative support to the school office and operations team
  • Assist with answering telephone calls, emails and general enquiries professionally
  • Help maintain accurate records, filing systems and school information
  • Support arrangements for meetings, events, visitors and day-to-day school activities
  • Use Microsoft Office and school systems to produce documents, update information and support communication
  • Work safely and confidentially in line with school policies, safeguarding expectations and data protection requirements

Training

Business Administrator Level 3.

Throughout the programme, apprentices will develop key workplace skills including IT, communication, record keeping, decision-making, planning and organisation, project management, and interpersonal skills. They will also build professional behaviours such as adaptability, responsibility, and professionalism.

Training is delivered primarily in the workplace by an assessor, with 20% off-the-job learning during contracted hours. The apprenticeship concludes with an End Point Assessment (EPA), comprising an online multiple-choice test, a portfolio-based interview, and a project or improvement process presentation.
