3rd Line Technician – £45,000 - Skipton - Great Opportunity

My client, a long-established MSP and telecoms provider, is looking for an experienced 3rd Line Technician to join their growing team. You’ll act as the senior point of escalation for complex issues while leading a range of onsite projects across servers, networks, cloud, and Wi-Fi.

The Role

  • Act as the senior escalation engineer for advanced technical issues.
  • Deliver onsite project work including migrations, installations, network upgrades, Wi-Fi deployments and server builds.
  • Work closely with Account Managers and Survey Teams to scope and deliver projects.
  • Delegate tasks to 1st/2nd Line and Networking teams.
  • Produce clear documentation (SOWs, implementation plans, change controls, handovers).
  • Troubleshoot across Windows Server, Azure/Entra, M365, SharePoint, Exchange and networking.
  • Support UniFi deployments and diagnose L2/L3 networking issues.
  • Work with school clients — an Enhanced DBS is required (funded).

What You’ll Need

  • Strong 3rd line technical ability across Azure, AD/Entra, M365 and SharePoint.
  • Solid Hyper-V troubleshooting and experience migrating server roles (DHCP, DNS, AD, FSMO).
  • Strong networking knowledge: VLANs, routing, segmentation, WAN failover, UniFi.
  • Understanding of school IT systems (Smoothwall, MIS, safeguarding tools) advantageous.
  • Good grounding in cyber security: MFA, IAM, patching, firewalls, CE/CE+.
