SF Technology Partners are partnering with a highly successful, investor-backed international distribution and technology business to appoint a European IT Director.

Operating at significant scale across multiple European markets, the organisation sits at the intersection of product distribution, logistics, fulfilment, and technology-enabled services. With an established market position, strong financial performance and ambitious growth plans, the business is embarking on an exciting new chapter driven by acquisition, innovation and operational excellence.

Backed by a highly entrepreneurial and acquisitive group, the organisation has clear ambitions to substantially increase revenues over the coming years through strategic acquisitions, business integration and continued investment in technology.

Working closely with the Board, this newly created role will play a pivotal part in shaping the technology strategy that supports the next phase of growth.

This is not a traditional IT Director role.

The business already has a solid operational IT team in place. What they need now is a strategic technology leader who can assess the current technology landscape, challenge conventional thinking, build a clear roadmap and ensure technology becomes a genuine enabler of growth, efficiency and competitive advantage.

The environment is both commercially and technically interesting, combining large-scale product distribution, warehouse and fulfilment operations, digital platforms, data-driven decision making and acquisition integration activity across Europe.

You will have the opportunity to influence technology strategy across multiple business units, support future acquisitions, strengthen data and reporting capabilities, improve operational efficiency and identify opportunities to leverage technology more effectively across the wider group.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a technology strategy aligned to ambitious commercial objectives.
• Build a multi-year technology roadmap to support growth, scalability and operational excellence.
• Partner with executive leadership to ensure technology investment delivers measurable business value.
• Support acquisition integration and future M&A activity.
• Drive digital transformation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Enhance business intelligence, reporting and data-driven decision making.
• Develop strategic relationships with technology partners and suppliers.
• Create alignment between technology, operations, finance, fulfilment and commercial functions.
• Champion innovation whilst maintaining operational resilience, governance and security.

We are interested in speaking with experienced IT Directors, Technology Directors, Heads of IT and CIOs who have successfully operated within fast-paced, product-led and operationally complex businesses.

You will bring:

• A strong track record of developing and executing technology strategy.
• Experience supporting business transformation and organisational growth.
• Exposure to acquisition, integration or change environments.
• Strong commercial awareness and board-level stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience within product distribution, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, fulfilment, wholesale, retail or other technology-enabled operational businesses.
• Experience supporting ERP, operational systems, data and business intelligence environments.
• The ability to influence, challenge and build credibility across a diverse stakeholder group.
• A pragmatic approach that balances strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
