Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Senior Power BI Analyst – Manufacturing & Operations

£50,000 – £60,000 + benefits

We are supporting a well-established UK manufacturing business in the appointment of a Senior Power BI Analyst to take ownership of operational reporting and performance insight across a key part of the organisation.

This is a hands-on role focused on improving how the business uses data across its manufacturing and operational functions. Commercial and financial reporting is already well established — the key priority is strengthening visibility across production, performance, and operational KPIs.

This role will initially focus on one core business unit, with strong long-term opportunity to help scale best practice across a wider group.

The role

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving Power BI dashboards and reports that support decision-making across manufacturing and operations.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Production output and line performance
  • Downtime / non-productive time
  • On-time delivery and service KPIs
  • Labour and productivity reporting
  • Process bottlenecks and performance trends
  • Wider operational dashboarding and reporting adoption
  • You will work closely with operational leaders, site teams, and wider business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver meaningful, trusted insight that drives action.

The role also offers scope to contribute toward longer-term data improvements, including enhanced data integration, API connectivity, and reporting scalability.

    What we need

Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, engineering, industrial, or heavily operational environment is essential.

This is not a pure reporting role we need someone who understands how data is used to improve real-world operational performance.

You should be able to demonstrate experience working with KPIs such as:

    • Throughput / output
    • Downtime
    • Productivity
    • SLA / on-time delivery
    • Operational efficiency
    • Process performance

    Technical requirements

    • Strong Power BI capability
    • Excellent DAX and data modelling skills
    • SQL / data querying experience
    • Experience working across multiple data sources
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and requirement gathering skills

    Ideal profile

We are looking for someone proactive, commercially aware, and confident working directly with operational teams.

This role will suit someone who enjoys solving operational challenges with data and wants the opportunity to build reporting capability that has visible impact on business performance.
