The Business Analyst will be responsible for all Business Analysis activity throughout the end to end project lifecycle (pre and post investment) with a focus on initiatives within our COO Function.

  • Responsible for all Business Analysis activity throughout the end to end project lifecycle (pre and post investment) as required.
  • Demonstrable evidence undertaking business analysis on business transformation and change projects involving Org Design, Operating Model, operational performance improvement, lean, and business systems deployment and change. 
  • Investigate business requests for IT related change. Understand and articulate business background, problem statement, solution expectations, business value and priority / sequencing outcomes 
  • Engage with subject matter experts to understand all areas of business demand items including, but not limited to, scope, budget, timeline, resource, risks, issues, business impact and benefit 
  • Map business processes, develop operational playbooks and identify opportunities to increase efficiencies and / or transform ways of working 
  • Engage with subject matter experts to capture, define and prioritise business high level and detailed business requirements associated with the request for change (dependent on stage of project / workstream) 
  • Collaborate with Solution Design, CoE’s and Architecture to identify and recommend appropriate high-level solutions in line with strategic, operational and technical roadmaps 
  • Manage investment approach and approval pathway including any required procurement activity 
  • Create and maintain key documentation including, but not limited to, Business Outcome Statements, Cost Benefit Analysis, Project Proposals, High Level Requirements, Conceptual Design and Investment Papers 
  • Plan and facilitate business workshops and meetings (internal and external). Create appropriate inputs and outputs to ensure achievement of desired results 
  • Perform any other business analysis activity associated with the definition, prioritisation and delivery of potential projects 
  • Possess a broad knowledge of available technical and business resources and use them to effectively coordinate team members and external resources 

What you will need

  • Over 5 years proven experience working either within IT or in a business system related role 
  • A sound understanding of BA methods, procedures, standards and tools 
  • A basic understanding of key roles within an IT / Operational organisation and how they interact with the BA role 
  • Detailed knowledge of the software development and project lifecycle 
  • Experience of managing senior stakeholders within a project environment 
  • Confident to challenge and influence at all levels 
  • Systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving 
  • Ability to transform complex information into clear and concise points 
  • Ability to work on your own initiative to tight deadlines and multiple priorities 
  • Ability to work unsupervised, but understand when to escalate issues to the benefit of the business 
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills 
  • Hold a valid driving licence and be willing to spend time away from your primary location.
