The Business Architect will shape and secure approval for digital business roadmaps aligned to SGN’s strategic objectives. They will maintain the integrity of the Operating Model, support change management, and manage senior business relationships to ensure IT demand is correctly defined. This will enable solutions to be delivered in line with SGN procedures, Enterprise Architecture standards, and industry best practice.

Operating Model Management
- Maintain and review operating model integrity across business areas
- Develop and apply design standards and guidelines for consistency
- Identify and resolve design gaps and integration challenges
- Communicate design decisions and support change management
Demand Management
- Manage strategic and tactical demand for change services and solutions
- Work with PMO on intake and prioritisation of demand
- Enable mobilisation of delivery frameworks (e.g., Waterfall, Agile)
- Analyse and prioritise potential projects based on ROI, compliance and safety
Portfolio Management
- Create and manage digital business roadmaps aligned to corporate strategy
- Collaborate on budget forecasts and approvals for projects and resources
- Monitor performance and value of the portfolio
- Ensure technology and business roadmaps remain aligned
Business Architecture
- Provide strategic consultation on business processes and operating structures
- Support strategy development and innovation
- Maintain the Business Architecture Knowledge Centre
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects on solution concepts and business cases
Business Analysis
- Conduct strategic analysis to shape and implement business-driven change
- Produce key documentation such as outcome statements, cost-benefit analysis and investment papers
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop Business Analysts and Architecture team capability
- Oversee workload, performance and personal development reviews
- Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
What you will need
Education & Qualifications
- Degree in business, information systems or related discipline (MBA, PRINCE2, ITIL, BA Diploma advantageous)
Experience
- 10+ years in IT or business systems roles
- Strong knowledge of budgetary, procurement and legal processes
- Expertise in Business Architecture, Business Analysis, Portfolio and Project Management methods
- Detailed understanding of software development and project lifecycles
- Proven stakeholder management at all levels
- Line management, coaching and mentoring experience
- Account and relationship management experience
- Business consultancy experience
