The Solution Designer is a key part of the Front Office and Future of Energy Product Group team, and will work with Architecture and Business Solutions teams to provide end to end solution designs, at both a high and a detailed level, for projects and programmes, taking account of business requirements, while ensuring solutions are aligned to in the technical & corporate strategies and are consistent with enterprise architectural roadmaps.

- The solution design role flows from idea generation and technical delivery, supporting projects through the full lifecycle.
- The Solution Designer will use their knowledge of the application estate and technical options available to design the best value, most fit for purpose solution to meet the business’ needs for the project, while working within the confines of the strategic architectural roadmap.
- The role has key involvement in both project changes, BAU changes and Incident management. Highlighting any technical risks, issues, constraints and dependencies.
- Identification of potential impact to different Business areas due to all type of changes to Front Office and Future of Energy systems.
- Attendance at technical workshops and input into the high-level design for the deployment into the Salesforce Platform including understanding the impact on current systems. Assessment of the risk and technical complexities of dual running in both current and new world within Operations.
What you will need
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to be able to deliver complex technical discussions into business language.
- Ability to see the application set up wholistically to assess impacts across al applications and business areas.
- Work closely with all members of the Product Group from Business Analysts, Project managers, Service Assurance and Transition and support them technically within their specific roles.
- Candidates should have a background in software delivery and a good rounded technical understanding. They will need strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex information.
- Experience with Maximo, Maximo Anywhere, Click and Salesforce would be an advantage.
- Experience working with supporting functions like Operational Control Centre would be an advantage.
