IT Apprentice

IT Support Apprentice required to join a small IT team, working directly with the IT Manager. Gain hands-on experience providing 1st and 2nd line support, user onboarding, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking and IT projects. Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Support Apprentice to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to start a career in IT while gaining hands-on experience in a busy business environment. Working closely with the IT Manager, you will receive direct mentoring and gain exposure to a wide range of technologies, systems, and projects. You will play an important role in supporting colleagues across the business while developing valuable technical and professional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to users across the business.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and user account issues.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Support user onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain IT equipment inventories and assist with asset management.
  • Work closely with the IT Manager to support IT projects and system improvements.
  • Support the administration of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and other business systems.
  • Follow IT security procedures and contribute to maintaining a secure IT environment.

Desirable Knowledge

Whilst not essential, the following experience or knowledge would be advantageous:

  • Windows 11 and Windows Server environments.
  • Active Directory and user account administration.
  • Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, switches and routers).
  • SQL and SQL Server.
  • Sage 200 and Sage CRM.
