Creative Technologists

SXTN are tasked with looking for people who build things other people can't quite describe.

Creative Technologists, Real-Time Artists, Technical Generalists in London, studio-based.

Studios working across live, image-making and emerging technology are increasingly looking to connect with people who operate at the intersection of creative and technical. Not a single defined role. More a broad reach toward individuals who can move between idea, build and execution across different environments.

/The Work Live and experiential projects including performances, installations and staged environments. Real-time visual systems across LED, projection and screen-based outputs. Bespoke tools and workflows built to support creative ideas. AI, 3D and interactive elements integrated into production contexts. A mix of studio-based build and on-site delivery.

/Where You Might Sit Creative Technologist. Real-Time Artist. Technical Director or Generalist. Hybrid profiles spanning 3D, AI, coding and content.

/Typical Skillsets Real-time tools such as Unreal Engine or TouchDesigner. Python or similar, particularly for building or adapting tools. AI workflows, from experimentation through to integration. Strong technical grounding across systems, hardware and live setups. Exposure to live environments, installations or production contexts.

/How You Work You move between concept and execution. You're comfortable in fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environments. You work closely with creatives, directors and production teams. You'd rather test and build than purely operate.

/The Context These are small, flexible teams built around specific briefs, with real phases of R&D, build and live delivery. Work moves between studio and on-site. The briefs evolve. There's increasing overlap between traditional post, real-time and experimental workflows, and the most interesting work is happening right at that edge.

If this sounds like how you work, get in touch or drop a DM.
