Application Support Engineer
Contract Length: Initial 9 months (with strong likelihood of extension)
Location: Remote with occasional travel to Geneva once every 3 months absolute tops (Paid for)
Rate: £550 - 585 (Inside IR35)
We are partnering with a leading global luxury retail organisation to recruit an experienced Application Support Engineer with strong expertise in GK POS and retail environments.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a large-scale international technology team supporting business-critical retail systems across a global operation. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of Point of Sale platforms that support thousands of users and customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for application support related issues across retail and POS systems
- Investigate, analyse and resolve complex incidents and system issues
- Provide expert-level support for GK Point of Sale (POS) solutions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement permanent fixes
- Support ongoing system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain and improve system reliability, performance and operational efficiency
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles
- Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to key technical and operational decisions
- Mentor team members and share specialist knowledge across the wider support function
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience supporting GK POS
- Proven background within Retail environments
- Application Support/Production Support experience in enterprise environments
- Experience troubleshooting complex business-critical systems
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently within a distributed global team
Desirable Skills
- SAP for Retail Point of Sale
- Business Process Implementation
- Engineering Support experience
- ITIL or best practice support methodologies
Working Arrangement
- Fully remote role
- Successful candidate will be required to collect a client laptop from Geneva as part of onboarding
- Occasional travel to client locations may be required (typically no more than once every three months and fully expensed)
