SAP Basis Consultant - S/4HANA/AWS

Location: Bristol - hybrid, maximum 2 days onsite per week

Contract: Initial 6 months

Engagement: Freelance - Inside IR35

Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Consultant to support the build, configuration and ongoing management of an SAP S/4HANA landscape. The role requires strong hands-on SAP Basis expertise, particularly around S/4HANA provisioning, HANA database administration and cloud-based SAP environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision, install and configure SAP S/4HANA systems across multiple environments.
• Support the initial S/4HANA build on a hyperscaler environment, ideally AWS.
• Install, configure and patch SAP Kernel components.
• Configure SAP clients, transports, RFCs and logical systems.
• Manage S/4HANA upgrades, FPS and Support Package stacks.
• Support performance, High Availability and Disaster Recovery testing.
• Perform SAP HANA database administration, including sizing, setup, backup and recovery.
• Monitor database performance and carry out regular housekeeping.
• Support DEV, QAS, Pre-Production and Production landscape management.
• Manage client setup, refresh strategies and point-in-time recovery.
• Support SAP system and log management.

Key Skills

• Strong hands-on SAP Basis experience.
• Excellent SAP S/4HANA installation, provisioning and landscape setup experience.
• Strong SAP HANA database administration skills.
• Experience building SAP S/4HANA environments on AWS or another hyperscaler.
• Strong knowledge of SAP upgrades, patching, backup/recovery and HA/DR.
• Good understanding of SAP landscape architecture and system sizing.
• Active SC Clearance is essential.
