SAP Basis Consultant (SC Cleared) - S/4HANA | Bristol | 6 months - (2 year project)

Our client, a leading global consultancy, is looking for an experienced SAP Basis Consultant to join a major transformation programme within a secure public sector environment.

This is an opportunity for a strong SAP professional who can quickly integrate into the team and take ownership of SAP S/4HANA system provisioning, administration and landscape management activities from day one.

Location: Bristol (Hybrid - Up to 2 days onsite per week)
Duration: 6 months initially, with potential extensions (2 year project)
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
Contract: Umbrella InsideIR35

Key Responsibilities

• SAP S/4HANA system provisioning and landscape setup
• Initial SAP S/4HANA builds on cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• SAP installation, Kernel upgrades and patching
• System configuration including clients, transports, RFCs and logical systems
• S/4HANA release upgrades, FPS and Service Pack management
• Support performance testing and HA/DR testing activities
• SAP HANA database administration
• Database sizing, setup, backup and recovery configuration
• Performance monitoring, tuning and system housekeeping
• SAP landscape management across Development, QA, Pre-Production and Production environments
• Client refresh and system copy activities
• Point-in-time backup and recovery management
• SAP log management and monitoring

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on SAP Basis administration experience
• Extensive SAP S/4HANA implementation and support expertise
• Experience provisioning SAP environments on AWS or other hyperscaler platforms
• Strong SAP HANA database administration skills
• Experience with SAP landscape design, sizing and environment strategy
• Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions
• Proven experience delivering within large-scale enterprise SAP programmes
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
