Senior Data and Analytics Officer
SNG (Sovereign Network Group) is one of the largest housing associations in England. We provide over 85,000 homes and invest in communities across the South, West and East of England, including London, as well as building thousands of new affordable homes every year.
We're looking for a Senior Data and Analytics Officer to join our team in Basingstoke. You'll play a key role in designing data models, reporting solutions, and supporting the transition of projects from development to production.
This is a hybrid working role with 2 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs. Document and translate business requirements into technical delivery plans using Azure DevOps.
- Maintain & create data models that support self-service data reporting from SNG's central data platform, using standard modelling techniques.
- Lead the delivery of data projects, ensuring timely release, scope management, and effective change management.
- Act as a change champion by providing user support during and after the move to production. Develop training materials and build a network of super-users across the organisation.
- Mentor junior analysts and officers, helping them develop best practices for data modelling and report development.
- Identify and address any challenges impacting data solutions, and participate in post-release reviews to ensure solutions continue to support business goals.
About you:
- Proficiency in PowerBI (including DAX) and SQL querying.
- Strong experience with star schema data modelling.
- Familiarity with tools like SQL Server Management Studio and Azure DevOps.
- Excellent understanding of database design, table joins, views, and functions.
- Ability to design self-service dashboards for business users.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to maintain high standards of data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
