Location: Middlesbrough, Bolton or Redhill (Hybrid)

Package: £80,000 + strong bonus & benefits

Summary

Join a growing Salesforce team that’s set to triple in size over the next year. You’ll lead an existing and brand new Salesforce squad, driving both architecture and delivery while shaping the platform’s technical direction. This is a hands-on role that will naturally evolve into a more strategic, leadership-focused position as the team expands.

As Principal Salesforce Engineer, you’ll define and own the Salesforce technical architecture, ensuring scalable, secure, high-quality solutions. You’ll mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and work closely with product, delivery and enterprise architecture to deliver key programmes.

Principal Salesforce Engineer Responsibilities

• Design and deliver complex Salesforce solutions across multiple Clouds

• Define and maintain technical architecture, integration patterns and performance standards

• Lead design reviews and ensure consistency with best practice and governance

• Oversee integrations with internal systems and middleware (e.g. Mulesoft), defining APIs and data flows

• Drive performance optimisation, scalability and platform resilience

• Mentor engineers and guide technical delivery across squads

Principal Salesforce Engineer Requirements

• Strong Salesforce engineering and technical leadership experience

• Expertise across multiple Clouds – Financial Services, Sales, Service, Experience, Marketing

• Proven track record in solution design, integrations, and governance

• Hands-on proficiency in Apex, LWC, Flows, SOQL/SOSL, and Salesforce integration patterns

• Deep understanding of Salesforce security, authentication and architecture best practice

Tech Stack: APEX, JavaScript, SOQL, SOSL, Flows, Lightning Web Components, HTML, CSS, Custom Objects, Triggers, Azure DevOps, Odaseva, Copado, Azure Cloud Services.
