BEng Railway Engineering Degree Apprenticeship
You will develop a deep knowledge and understanding of how the railway works as an integrated, complex system from an operational perspective. You will become a professional engineer with a wide range of rail and rail systems technical engineering skills. You will be accountable for your own work and that of others.
Role
- Under direction, assist to provide technical support to the engineering team
- Assist in the preparation and/or checking of design calculations
- Assist in ensuring that all project related engineering tasks/activities are robustly planned in accordance with timescale and budget constraints
- Maintain compliance with client standards, specifications, CDM and relevant Health and Safety legislation including ensuring that accurate ‘as built’ drawings and health and safety file information is produced as appropriate and returned to customer via the approved means/processes
- Assist with the preparation of reports and documents in line with the business document control process and procedure
- Outline cost estimates
- Support specific business objectives, as required
Training
- You will be required to attend Sheffield Hallam University on block release for a total of 36 days per year
- The degree award is BEng (Hons) Railway Engineering
- Functional Skills level 2 may be required forthose without GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent
