This leading Greentech scale-up (backed by 250m+ in funding) is building trading and monitoring systems that optimise how clean energy is traded, stored, and delivered across global markets.

Theyre expanding their offshore engineering team and are open to people within 3 hours of London including Portugal, Poland, Serbia, Romania, Moldova, and beyond.

The Tech:

Python is the core language, but if youre a strong engineer from another stack, theyll give you 34 weeks to upskill they hire for capability, not just code syntax.

What youll be doing

• Designing automated trading systems for green energy markets
• Building real-time bidding, dispatch, and optimisation tools
• Developing data pipelines using Kafka & TimescaleDB
• Creating microservices that connect trading platforms and grid operators
• Building monitoring dashboards for grid stability and energy storage operations

What theyre looking for

• Strong software fundamentals ideally Python , Rust is a bonus
• Experience with distributed systems, REST APIs, and microservices
• Knowledge of Kafka (or similar), PostgreSQL , and time-series data
• Familiar with Docker, monitoring, and observability tools
• Experience in a startup or scale-up , collaborating closely with engineers in a fast-moving environment

Bonus points if youve worked in energy markets, trading systems, industrial control , or IoT .
