Forward Deployed Engineer
Forward Deployed Data Engineer (Enterprise / AI Platform)
£45,000 - £75,000 DOE
Location: London (hybrid 3 days in office)
Type: Full-time
The Opportunity
We're partnering with a high-growth B2B SaaS company building an advanced enterprise data and AI platform and are looking for a Forward Deployed Data Engineer to sit at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and real-world business impact.
In this role, you'll work directly with senior stakeholders at large enterprises to embed the platform deep into their operations — transforming strategic intent into live, production systems that deliver measurable outcomes.
This is a highly hands-on, customer-facing engineering role where the "last mile" of implementation creates the competitive advantage. You'll act as the catalyst that turns powerful software into scaled, real-world impact.
About the Company
The company is a category-defining technology startup founded by experienced business and technology leaders. Their platform unifies complex internal and external data into a single enterprise system, enabling organisations to plan, execute, and make strategic decisions with far greater clarity.
Founded in the early 2020s, the business has already been adopted by multiple global industrial and enterprise organisations. The product combines deep data integration, best-in-class workflows, and modern generative AI capabilities to drive step-change productivity across lean teams.
While the underlying technology is highly scalable, this company believes that Forward Deployed Engineering is the future of differentiated B2B SaaS in the GenAI era.
Rather than shipping static tools, engineers partner closely with customers to deliver tailored, high-impact solutions. Value is created in the implementation layer — where technology, data, and business context meet — not just in the core codebase.

- Work directly with customers to solve complex, high-impact business problems
- Adapt and deploy the platform to customer-specific contexts and priorities
- Design and implement scalable generative AI-enabled workflows

- Experience in startups, scale-ups, or top-tier consultancies (or a strong desire to work in such environments)
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clean, maintainable data pipelines
- Strong fundamentals in Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and operate with a high degree of ownership
Nice to Have
- Experience with dashboarding or data visualisation tools
- Exposure to TypeScript or API development
- Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, dbt, or Databricks
- Experience integrating enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, operational platforms)
What's On Offer

- Work closely with an elite, interdisciplinary group of engineers and business leaders
- Highly competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- Private medical insurance
- Modern, collaborative office in central London
