We are seeking an experienced Java Developer (SFIA Level 4) to join a client-directed team supporting enhancements to core data pipelines within a strategic government data platform. The role will focus on developing and optimising microservices.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong Java expertise, particularly with Spring Boot, and a working knowledge of modern development environments and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance Java microservices supporting data transformation and loading pipelines.
  • Collaborate with wider platform teams on the integration of command adaptors, aggregators, and data loaders.
  • Ensure code is testable, efficient, and maintainable.
  • Deploy services using established CI/CD pipelines and manage your own build/test activities.
  • Work effectively within a client-led agile delivery environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Active SC clearance
  • Proven Java development experience with strong Spring Boot knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of Microservices architecture and related design patterns.
  • Experience working in Linux environments and using Git for version control.
  • Comfortable using IntelliJ or VSCode development environments.
  • Ability to execute and manage own code through established pipelines and contribute to structured deployments.
  • Familiarity with FDP or CDLZ platforms (not essential but advantageous).
