The Role
We're looking for an experienced SC Cleared Python Developer to join a high-profile programme delivering secure, scalable solutions within a complex environment. You'll be working as part of a collaborative engineering team, building robust Back End services and contributing to mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Python-based applications and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and architecture
- Build and integrate APIs and microservices
- Contribute to system design, code reviews, and best practice standards
- Troubleshoot, debug and optimise performance across applications
- Support secure development practices within a government/defence environment
Essential
- Active SC Clearance
- Strong Python development experience in production environments
- Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices and design patterns
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Desirable
- Experience working in government or defence sectors
- Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with data processing or analytics pipelines
- Familiarity with Agile delivery environments

- Hybrid - a few days on-site in the Bristol area on a weekly basis.
