Location: London - Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)
Contract: Inside IR35
Rate: £475-£500 per day
We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join a financial services organisation on a contract basis.
This role will focus on analysing large-scale, multi-source financial datasets, identifying trends and anomalies, investigating data quality issues, and producing actionable insights to support business decision-making.
Previous experience working within financial services is essential for this position. Candidates without financial services experience will not be considered.
The Role
As a Data Analyst, you will work with complex datasets including holdings, transactions, legal entity and regulatory reporting data. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Analysing complex, high-volume datasets from multiple sources
- Using SQL to interrogate data and generate actionable insights
- Developing integrated views of firms and entities across multiple data sources
- Identifying trends, concentrations, anomalies and data quality issues
- Performing data validation, reconciliation and quality assessments
- Working with stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and gather feedback
- Clearly communicating analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Essential Experience
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Previous financial services experience - essential
- 3+ years' experience in SQL-based data analysis across complex datasets
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience using Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with AWS services, ideally S3, Athena and DynamoDB
- Experience identifying data quality issues and supporting remediation activities
- Strong data validation and reconciliation experience
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week onsite in London.
