Data Lead - Financial Services
Inside IR35: £600-£650 per day
Hybrid - 2-3 dpw on-site in Stratford, London

We are recruiting an experienced Data Lead to manage a team of three analysts supporting a major funds data programme within financial services. The role will oversee data analysis, Power BI dashboard development and analytical reporting across large, multi-source datasets, ensuring complex information is translated into clear business insight and supports data-driven decision-making.
Role responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of three analysts delivering data analysis, dashboard development and reporting activities.
- Oversee the development and refinement of Power BI and Tableau dashboards, management information and analytical outputs.
- Analyse complex financial services datasets, including holdings, transactions, legal entities and regulatory reporting data.
- Guide the creation of integrated views of firms and entities using information from multiple data sources.
- Ensure analysis identifies relevant trends, concentrations, anomalies and potential risks.
- Improve data quality through validation, controls, data enrichment and ongoing assurance activities.
- Engage senior stakeholders to understand requirements, gather feedback and prioritise team activity.
Key experience and requirements
- Strong Power BI experience, including overseeing the development and refinement of dashboards, management information and analytical reporting solutions.
- At least five years' experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting or a related data role.
- Previous experience working with complex datasets within financial services is essential.
- Proven experience leading a small data or analytics team and delivering solutions within complex environments.
- Strong SQL and data-analysis skills across large, multi-source datasets.
- Experience using Tableau alongside Power BI would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Athena and DynamoDB.
- Strong senior stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly.
