SC Cleared Network Engineer | Cisco | Palo Alto | NSX-T | Defence | Contract Routing & Switching | Firewalls | Secure Networks | SC Cleared | HybridSR2 is supporting a consultancy partner on multi-year project and we're looking for an experienced  Network Engineer to join the dedicated product team building and supporting a highly secure, state-of-the-art digital platform.This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining secure on-prem network infrastructure, collaborating with security, platform, and architecture teams to deliver solutions in a highly regulated environment.Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimise secure on-premises network infrastructure
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco switches/routers, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortigate firewalls, and NSX-T
• Build and maintain both physical and virtualised network environments
• Support high availability, scalability, and performance across the network estate
• Prepare and deliver detailed technical design documentation and knowledge management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new solutions and meet evolving business needs
• Ensure compliance with governance, change control, and security accreditation processes

Skills & Experience Required:

• 3+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer in secure or regulated environments
• Strong knowledge of switching, routing, firewalls, VLANs, VNets, BGP, and software-defined networking
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, NSX-T, and Fortigate technologies
• Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to deliver pragmatic solutions in complex environments
• Familiarity with scripting for automation (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl)
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Professional certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCDP) highly desirable

• Rate: Market rate (Inside IR35)

• Clearance: Active SC clearance required
