The Opportunity

A large, complex organisation is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a key portfolio of work focused on treating organisational data as a strategic asset.

The role sits across the organisation's Data and Cyber functions and forms part of a wider Security Improvement Programme. You will take ownership of several interdependent workstreams designed to improve how data is identified, classified, governed, protected and managed across the organisation.

This is not a generic project management role or a deeply technical architecture position. It requires someone who can operate confidently between business change, data governance, cyber security and programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the outputs of the Data Asset Discovery exercise and translate them into an actionable delivery roadmap.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple workstreams across Data, Cyber, Technology, Product and the wider business.
  • Support the identification, classification and assignment of ownership for critical data assets.
  • Establish practical governance processes covering data ownership, lifecycle management, retention, protection and access.
  • Build an enduring data governance capability that becomes embedded into day-to-day business operations.
  • Strengthen governance around data access, including role-based access controls and the principle of least privilege.
  • Support information protection, data clean-up and knowledge management initiatives.
  • Coordinate the implementation of relevant SharePoint governance capabilities.
  • Help define information lifecycle and retention requirements, including appropriate retention periods.
  • Support business continuity planning by identifying the datasets that underpin critical services and agreeing appropriate recovery priorities.
  • Work closely with senior Data and Cyber leadership to ensure priorities remain aligned.
  • Manage relationships with third-party suppliers, engineers, product managers and specialist technical teams.
  • Facilitate planning, decision-making, prioritisation and delivery across a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Maintain clear oversight of risks, issues, dependencies, milestones and delivery progress.
