SRG are currently recruiting for a Control Systems Engineer to join a successful and growing client based near Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to critical projects and maintenance activities in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Diagnose and resolve control system issues to ensure smooth operations
- Design, specify, and install control and safety systems (including PLCs, BPCS, SIS, DCS, SCADA, HMI)
- Manage changes by reviewing proposals and implementing system modifications.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners such as suppliers, integrators, and contractors
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all legal and company standards
- Support training and development within the department.
Criteria:
- Minimum HNC in Controls/Electronic/Instrument Engineering
- Strong experience with Allen Bradley systems (RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View)
- Knowledge of relevant standards (BS/IEC 61003, 61131, 61508, 61511, 62443)
- Understanding of functional safety, SIL, LOPA, and Safety Instrumented Systems
- Experience with communication protocols (Ethernet, DH+, Modbus, ProfiNet)
- Awareness of OT Cyber Security, IIoT, and AI is a plus.
- Previous exposure to chemical manufacturing, hazardous areas (ATEX), and instrumentation engineering preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar tools.
