Cyber Security Architect

Title: Cyber Security Architect
Duration: 6 Months (with a high possibility for further extension)
Work Mode: Hybrid or Remote (Must be based in Ireland)

Purpose:
We are hiring on behalf of one of our key clients, a leading energy and electricity provider in Northern Ireland. The client is undergoing a critical transformation driven by the energy transition, regulatory demands, and the development of infrastructure to support a renewable economy. To support this shift, they require an experienced Cyber Security Architect to enhance their security capabilities within modern platform architectures and near real-time data environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity architecture aligned with industry standards such as NIST, NIS, NCSC CAF, and ISO 27001/2.
  • Implement and manage enterprise-wide security technologies including Identity and Access Management (IDAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
  • Support the design and deployment of security solutions for workloads across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including DPA and UK GDPR, and implement data loss prevention (DLP) solutions.
  • Apply strong infrastructure, networking, and cloud security expertise to protect critical assets.
  • Utilize formal architectural tools, methodologies, and documentation to develop and communicate security architectures.
  • Work collaboratively within Utility and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environments, providing security insights relevant to these sectors.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of practical cybersecurity architecture experience across a range of infrastructure components.
  • Proven expertise in implementing security frameworks and best practices, including NIST, NIS, NCSC CAF, and ISO 27001/2.
  • Experience managing estate-wide security technologies, particularly IDAM and PAM solutions.
  • Strong background in cloud and on-premise security architectures.
  • Knowledge of data protection laws and practical experience with data security and DLP solutions.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, networking, and cloud security principles.
  • Experience with formal security architecture tools, patterns, and documentation standards.
  • Previous exposure to Utility or Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environments is advantageous.
