Technical Project Manager

Technical Project Manager

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 from home)

The Role

We're working with a growing and highly regarded organisation in the financial services space, looking to appoint a Technical Project Manager to support a range of complex, business-critical technology initiatives.

This is a delivery-focused role where you'll take ownership of projects end-to-end - driving delivery across the full SDLC, from initial scoping and planning through to implementation and post-go-live support. You'll be working at the intersection of business and technology, ensuring solutions are delivered effectively while aligning to both client and regulatory expectations.

The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on quality, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be responsible for leading and delivering multiple technology projects, ensuring they are executed successfully across scope, time, and budget.

Day-to-day you will:

  • Own end-to-end project delivery across the full lifecycle (initiation through to delivery and closure)
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and governance frameworks
  • Work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership
  • Oversee resource planning and allocation, ensuring delivery capability is aligned to demand
  • Drive structured delivery through Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
  • Track progress and performance using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Lead risk identification and mitigation, including cross-project dependencies
  • Facilitate UAT phases and ensure successful business adoption
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted delivery partner
About You

You'll be an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering technology projects within financial services or similarly regulated environments.

We're particularly interested in candidates who bring:

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end technology projects across the full SDLC
  • Background in financial services, fintech, payments, insurance, or asset/investment management
  • Strong technical understanding - comfortable working with engineering and delivery teams
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder environments, including senior and C-suite stakeholders
  • Solid grounding in project governance, risk management, and delivery controls
  • Exposure to UAT, change management, and implementation phases
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • A recognised PM certification (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile/Scrum) is desirable

Experience delivering into external clients or SaaS environments is beneficial, but not essential.

Why Join

This is an opportunity to join a business that is investing heavily in its technology and delivery capability, with a strong pipeline of work and clear growth plans.

You'll benefit from:

  • A high-impact role with real ownership and visibility
  • Exposure to complex, large-scale transformation projects
  • A collaborative and supportive delivery environment
  • Clear opportunities for career progression and development
