Design Engineer - Electronic Security & Smart Building

The Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and coordination of electronic security and smart building systems, including CCTV, access control, and integrated building technologies. The role involves supporting tender submissions, engaging directly with clients, and ensuring solutions meet technical, operational, and commercial requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Design & Engineering -Design electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, intruder detection, and related infrastructureDevelop integrated smart building solutions, incorporating security, ICT, and building management systemsProduce detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, schematics, and system architecturesEnsure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practicesSupport value engineering and technical optimisation of solutionsTenders & Proposals -Provide technical input for tenders, bids, and proposalsPrepare technical descriptions, system designs, and equipment schedules for submissionsSupport pricing and scope definition in collaboration with commercial and project teamsReview client specifications and translate requirements into compliant technical solutionsProject Support - Provide engineering support during project delivery, installation, and commissioning phasesReview installation drawings and technical submittalsAssist with system testing, commissioning strategies, and handover documentationTechnical Skills -Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, access control, and electronic security technologiesExperience with smart buildings and integrated systems (security, ICT, BMS, PSIM, etc.)Understanding of networking principles (IP-based systems, VLANs, PoE, cybersecurity basics)Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and specificationsThe role will be 2/3 days in the office in Central London & the rest remote
