Apprentice Panel Wire Person / Fitter (Level 3 Engineering Fitter)
We are seeking a focused & attentive Apprentice Panel Wire Person who will learn to build, wire and test electrical control panels, under the supervision of our technicians. Key duties include interpreting electrical schematics, cutting and crimping cables, assembling components and utilizing multimeters to diagnose fault.
Role
- Schematic Reading: Learn to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics
- Panel Assembly: Mount electrical components (relays, PLCs, circuit breakers) onto backplates within enclosures
- Wiring & Terminating: Perform point-to-point wiring, cable looming and crimping
- Testing: Assist in using multimeters and other testing equipment to verify circuit continuity and prevent faults
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to industry regulations and maintain a safe workspace
- Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager
Training
- Primarily based in the workplace.
- Attendance to Loughborough College one day per week, term time only.
- Diarised visits from dedicated Trainer/Assessor.
