Document Automation Specialist

I am working with an international law firm based at Chancery Lane and they are looking for a Document Automation Specialist for a six month contract at a salary of between £45,000-£55,000 and the position is hybrid. They are looking for candidates whom have excellent attention to detail and can be comfortable working with stakeholders. You will need at least two years’ experience.

One of our strategic priorities as a Firm is to build and develop our legal innovation strategy. We are forming and developing our Advanced Client Solutions (ACS) team. The team will be working with lawyers and business services in all areas to turn Charles Russell Speechlys into one of the most demonstrably forward-thinking law firms in the city by the end of 2025. Once at capacity, the function will be made up of the following teams:

The Document Automation Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automated document solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in document creation and management processes. This role requires a strong understanding of document automation technologies and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to streamline workflows.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles.
  • Use document automation software such as Contract Express to automate document suites from start to finish alongside the legal experts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify document automation needs and develop tailored solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Maintain templates, forms, and workflows to ensure consistency and compliance in document production.
  • Conduct periodic testing and troubleshooting of existing automated document suites
  • Provide training and support to users on document automation tools and processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of document automation systems and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in document automation technologies to ensure best practices are applied

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in document automation in a law firm or a similar role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design efficient workflows.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in document production.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Person Specification

    • Experience with programming languages or scripting for automation purposes.
    • Familiarity with data management and integration techniques.
    • Knowledge of legal or compliance requirements related to document management.
