Frontend Engineer
STS Digital (www.stsdigital.io) is a leading regulated digital asset trading firm specialising in OTC trading and market making. While trading is headquartered in Bermuda, technology development is provided by a vibrant global engineering team.
We are seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to join our OTC Trading Technology team. This role focuses on building and evolving the user interfaces that support OTC Spot and Options RFQ trading, structured products, and client-facing workflows. The UI Engineer will work on both external client experiences and internal trading and administration tools, with a strong emphasis on performance, usability, and correctness in a trading environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain user interfaces for OTC trading systems using TypeScript and React.
- Develop and enhance client-facing platforms including the Client Portal and onboarding workflows.
- Contribute to internal trading and administration tools used by sales, trading, and operations teams.
- Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs supporting RFQ trading, pricing, and trade lifecycle workflows.
- Ensure UI components are performant, responsive, and robust under real-time trading conditions.
- Collaborate with traders, product stakeholders, and engineers to deliver intuitive and reliable user experiences.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
- Participate in production issue analysis and resolution, particularly where UI behaviour impacts trading or client experience.
Expected Qualifications
Essential
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and React in production systems.
- Proven experience building complex, data-driven user interfaces.
- Experience working in trading, financial markets, or other time-sensitive, high-reliability environments.
- Solid understanding of UI performance, state management, and real-time data handling.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to debugging and problem solving.
- Comfortable working closely with backend engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Desirable
- Experience integrating with REST or WebSocket APIs.
- Exposure to backend technologies such as C# or Python.
- Familiarity with RFQ, OTC, or derivatives trading workflows.
- Experience working on admin or operational tooling alongside customer-facing applications.
- Understanding of basic cloud concepts and deployment environments.
