The Role:

This role is within the Saab UK IT Team. The Business Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of IT systems across Saab UK. The Business Systems Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth integration and optimisation of IT systems to improve overall business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning: Collaborate with senior management to identify business goals and objectives, then develop and implement IT strategies to support these goals.

  • System analysis and design: Analyse business processes and requirements to identify areas for improvement. From this, then design and develop IT systems that address these needs and improve efficiency.

  • System implementation: Manage the installation, configuration, and testing of IT systems, ensuring that they are fully functional and meet Saab UK's requirements.

  • System maintenance: Monitor the performance and stability of IT systems, address issues promptly, and implement necessary updates to ensure continued functionality.

  • Vendor management: Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers, negotiate contracts, and manage performance to ensure value for money.

  • Budget management: Develop and manage IT budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently to maximize the return on investment.

  • Training and development: Provide training and support to staff on the use of IT systems, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks efficiently.

  • Compliance: Ensure that the company's IT systems adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.

  • Development and maintenance of Saab UK Business Systems Strategy.

  • Business Systems maintenance plan.

Skills and Experience:

  • System administration experience.

  • Process improvement experience.

  • Strategic Planning.

  • Prioritisation of key tasks.

  • Risk Management experience.

  • Experience of developing strategy.

  • IT Operations experience.

  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to guide and motivate team members.

  • Understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders..

  • Proficiency in project management, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience in developing and implementing IT strategies that align with business objectives.

  • Strong analytical skills for identifying business needs and designing effective IT solutions.

  • Knowledge of IT security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.

  • Proven track record of effectively managing IT budgets and resources.

  • Experience in training and supporting staff on the use of IT systems and tools.

  • Continuous learning and adaptability to adapt to changing business needs and industry trends.

As a National Security Vetting clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold National Security Vetting clearance to SC level or have the ability to gain it.
