About the Role
We’re hiring a Business Development Executive to help drive the next stage of growth at Safely Systems.
This is a high-impact commercial role focused on generating new business opportunities, building relationships with prospective customers, and helping organisations understand how Safely can support their operational and compliance goals.
You will play a key role in expanding our market presence by identifying target customers, opening conversations, qualifying opportunities, booking product demonstrations, and progressing leads through the early and mid-stages of the sales cycle. You will work closely with leadership, marketing, and customer-facing teams to convert market interest into qualified pipeline and long-term customer relationships.
This role is ideal for someone who is commercially driven, confident, engaging decision-makers, and excited by the opportunity to help grow an ambitious SaaS business serving frontline industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and qualify new business opportunities across frontline sectors including hospitality, food service, manufacturing, healthcare, and other operationally intensive environments
- Identify target customers and key decision-makers across operators, groups, franchises, and multi-site organisations
- Conduct outbound prospecting through email, phone, LinkedIn, networking, and other relevant channels
- Respond to and qualify inbound leads generated through marketing activity, referrals, partnerships, and campaigns
- Book meetings, discovery calls, and product demonstrations for senior commercial colleagues or lead them directly where appropriate
- Build strong early-stage relationships with prospective customers by understanding their operational challenges and business priorities
- Clearly communicate Safely’s value proposition in a way that is relevant to operational leaders, compliance teams, site managers, and senior decision-makers
- Develop a strong understanding of Safely’s platform, customer use cases, and the operational problems it helps solve
- Maintain and progress an active pipeline of opportunities through the CRM, ensuring accurate forecasting and follow-up
- Work closely with marketing to support campaigns, lead follow-up, event activity, and sales enablement initiatives
- Support the preparation of proposals, sales materials, and commercial follow-up communications
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, referrals, and commercial introductions
- Attend industry events, networking opportunities, site visits, and customer meetings where relevant
- Share market feedback, prospect objections, and competitive insights with the wider team
- Consistently work towards new business, pipeline, and activity targets
- Represent Safely professionally and credibly in all customer and market-facing interactions
What Success Looks Like
- A strong pipeline of qualified new business opportunities is consistently generated
- Prospective customers clearly understand Safely’s value and relevance to their operations
- Meetings and demos are booked with the right-fit stakeholders and accounts
- CRM records, pipeline tracking, and follow-up activity are well managed and accurate
- Sales targets and activity KPIs are met or exceeded
- Market feedback is captured and used to improve messaging, campaigns, and sales effectiveness
- Safely’s commercial presence and awareness across frontline sectors continues to grow
Required Experience
- 2+ years in a business development, sales development or commercial role
- Proven experience generating and qualifying new business opportunities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging prospects by phone, email, video call, and in person
- Experience managing sales activity and pipeline through a CRM
- Ability to understand customer problems and position a solution in a clear, relevant, and consultative way
- Commercially driven, self-motivated, and comfortable working to targets and KPIs
- Strong organisation and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages
- Confident working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can evolve
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Haves
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or software sales
- Experience selling into frontline industries such as hospitality, food service, manufacturing, healthcare, facilities, compliance, or multi-site operational businesses
- Familiarity with consultative sales and solution-led selling
- Experience in an early-stage, startup, or scale-up environment
- Understanding of operational software, digital transformation, or workflow-based platforms
- Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar
- Interest in AI, operational technology, IoT, or workforce productivity solutions

Working Style
This role is expected to be hybrid or remote, with travel as required for customer meetings, site visits, events, and internal collaboration.
