Job summary
Salisbury Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and SWAG Cancer Alliances are pleased to announce a vacancy in our Pharmacy Aseptic Unit team. This exciting senior post (NHS AfC band 7) is for a Pharmacy Aseptic Unit Digital Technology Lead. The role is designed to support our new Electronic Worksheets system and to lead and develop digital solutions for our Aseptic Unit.
The post holder will be the lead administrator for all relevant Pharmacy Aseptic Unit digital systems. In addition, they will become an expert CMM Aseptic Suite advisor leading on development, configuration, validation, monitoring and maintenance of the electronic worksheet system. The job will include working with key staff across the organisation to ensure that the CMM Aseptic Suite system is maintained and developed appropriately to reflect the current and future needs of staff groups, services and service users. The post holder will be required to work closely with external suppliers and peers in other organisations to develop and maintain effective networks and trusted relationships. The job will include participation in national and regional user groups.
Main duties of the job
- To lead the digital development, configuration and maintenance of the Aseptic Suite within the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit at SFT.
- To support the Accountable Pharmacist in the drug file build and ongoing maintenance and configuration of the Aseptic Suite as per guidance from the Drug and Therapeutics Group, and local Risk Assessment.
- To maintain the CMM Aseptic Suite electronic system as directed by Accountable Pharmacist and working closely with the Lead Pharmacy Technician: Quality Assurance for Aseptic Services and Lead Operational Aseptic Services Technician. This will include the addition of new medicines.
- To maintain robust digital quality assurance systems in line with defined digital pharmacy standards and associated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Essential
- Evidence of and commitment to continuing professional development
- Relevant and extensive post-registration hospital pharmacy experience
- Good, broad pharmacy knowledge and ability to apply to an Aseptic Unit setting
- Current and continued registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a practicing member.
- Demonstrable experience of service development/service review and leading on successful implementation of change
- Experience of managing, training, mentorship, supervision of staff including appraisals
- Completion of external accredited course in Technical Services, Quality Assurance or relevant area.
- Demonstrable advanced experience of working with electronic medicines management systems
- Qualification in project management
