Freelance Service Designer (SW London / Surrey)
I am currently partnering with a forward-thinking organisation operating within the EV and mobility space, who are seeking an experienced Senior Service Designer to support a significant programme of work across their evolving EV ecosystem and service offering.
This engagement will focus on shaping and improving end-to-end service experiences across the UK and European markets, with particular emphasis on complex, high-impact areas such as pricing, payments, and transactional services. The successful consultant will play a key role in bringing structure, clarity, and a deeply user-centred mindset to services that operate across multiple channels and touchpoints.
This is a pure Service Design role, suited to someone who is highly confident working at a strategic and systemic level, translating complexity into clear, actionable service artefacts that can be aligned across product, technology, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities & Experience Required:
- Proven experience mapping current (βas-isβ) and future-state service journeys for complex, multi-channel services.
- High level of proficiency in producing service blueprints, journey maps, ecosystem maps, and supporting service design documentation.
- Strong ability to frame ambiguous problem spaces and drive alignment around user needs, operational constraints, and business objectives.
- Experience within the EV, mobility, or adjacent regulated/service-heavy industries is advantageous, though not essential.
- This role does not involve UI or interaction design; applicants should be specialists in Service Design rather than UX design.
