We are currently recruiting for an experienced Information Governance Manager to join a large NHS organisation, leading the Trust's Information Governance function and ensuring compliance with UK legislation and NHS standards.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Information Governance professional to take ownership of the Information Governance framework, supporting senior leadership while driving improvements across data protection, information security and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Trust's Information Governance programme.
Oversee compliance with UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information legislation.
Lead delivery and assurance of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT).
Develop and maintain Information Governance policies, procedures and strategies.
Provide expert advice on Information Governance, Information Security and confidentiality.
Support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), data sharing agreements and information asset management.
Investigate information governance incidents and data breaches.
Liaise with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), NHS England and external regulators.
Produce reports for senior leadership and governance committees.
Deliver Information Governance training and awareness across the organisation.
Manage Information Governance risks and support continuous improvement.
Essential Experience
Extensive Information Governance experience within the NHS or large healthcare organisation.
Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information legislation.
Hands on experience delivering the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT).
Experience developing Information Governance policies and governance frameworks.
Knowledge of Information Security principles and risk management.
Experience supporting DPIAs, audits and regulatory compliance.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience managing Information Governance incidents and investigations.
