Project Finance Analyst (Mid-senior)

We are now looking for a Project Finance Analyst to join our MKT MSP team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

About the Role

The Finance Analyst plays a key role in supporting project financial management, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial control, and actionable insight. You will partner closely with project managers, business leaders, and finance teams to drive performance visibility and support strategic decision-making across active projects.

Responsibilities

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting cycles across project portfolios
  • Support project leads in building robust financial plans aligned to KPIs
  • Analyse variances between actuals, budget, and forecast, providing insights and recommendations

Month-End & Year-End Close

  • Support accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare project P&L reporting, accruals, prepayments, and revenue recognition journals (IFRS 15)
  • Reconcile project accounts and ensure data integrity with Financial Accounting

Project Financial Management

  • Monitor project performance including revenue, costs, margins, and cash flow
  • Support financial modelling, funding requests, and cost-to-complete analysis
  • Evaluate project profitability and financial outcomes

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Drive improvements in reporting efficiency, accuracy, and automation
  • Support development of dashboards and reporting tools
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives

Business Partnering & Analysis

  • Act as a finance partner to project and operational teams
  • Provide financial guidance, challenge assumptions, and support decision-making
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis, scenario modelling, and strategic insights

Requirements

  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting (project-based environment preferred)
  • Solid understanding of project accounting, financial controls, and revenue/cost recognition
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP desirable)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
