Job Title: Communications Lead
Location: Southampton (on-site a few times per week)
Day Rate: £525-£550 (Inside IR35)
Contract Type: Contract
We are seeking an experienced Communications Lead to drive strategic and operational communications across a large, complex organisation. This role requires a confident communicator who can shape messaging, engage stakeholders at all levels, and support key transformation initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver clear, consistent, and engaging communication strategies aligned to business objectives
Lead internal communications for major programmes, ensuring messaging is timely and impactful
Partner with senior stakeholders to understand priorities and translate them into effective communications
Create high-quality content across multiple channels (eg email, Intranet, presentations, leadership briefings)
Manage communication plans, ensuring alignment with wider organisational messaging
Support change and transformation initiatives through targeted communication activities
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications, making data-driven improvements
Provide guidance and support to leadership on communication best practices
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a Communications Lead or similar role within a large organisation
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience supporting change or transformation programmes
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail
Proficiency in using a variety of communication tools and platforms
Desirable Experience
Background in professional services, consulting, or corporate environments
Experience working within regulated or complex organisational structures
Working Arrangement
Hybrid working model with presence in Southampton required a few times per week
