About the role
We’re looking for an experienced DevOps professional who can take ownership of designing, building, and optimising modern cloud‐native platforms. This is a hands‐on engineering role that also involves contributing to architectural decisions, guiding delivery teams, and ensuring platforms remain secure, scalable, and reliable.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and implementing cloud platforms in AWS, with a focus on scalability, resilience, and secure‐by‐design principles.
- Building and maintaining Kubernetes environments (including EKS), Helm charts, and containerised workloads.
- Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Drone.
- Delivering Infrastructure‐as‐Code using Terraform, Ansible, and other automation tooling to streamline deployment and configuration processes.
- Creating prototype environments, proof‐of‐concept tooling, and experimentation platforms to drive innovation.
- Supporting Agile delivery teams and working closely with developers, analysts, and testers to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.
- Enhancing monitoring, observability, and platform reliability across complex systems.
- Producing high‐level and low‐level technical designs and contributing to wider technical governance discussions.
- Working with security‐focused tooling and DevSecOps practices, including scanning, analysis, and secure deployment workflows.
What we’re looking for
- Strong, hands‐on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud‐native architectures.
- A solid background in Infrastructure‐as‐Code, automation, and CI/CD engineering.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python and Bash.
- Experience delivering within complex environments, ideally across multiple projects or large‐scale systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Someone proactive, logical, and comfortable taking ownership of solutions from design through to delivery.
- Experience working in or alongside public sector or highly regulated environments is particularly valuable.
Why this role
This is an opportunity to work on high‐impact platforms, contribute to technical direction, and play a key role in shaping solutions used across large and complex organisations. You’ll be joining a team that values innovation, autonomy, and high‐quality engineering practice.
