Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking a driven and ambitious Junior IT Project Manager to join a dynamic and fast-paced team based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to kick-start or develop their career in project management within the Security and Defence sector.

You'll work closely with experienced Project Managers and senior stakeholders, gaining hands-on exposure to the full project life cycle while contributing to the successful delivery of critical IT projects.

The Role

As a Junior IT Project Manager, you will play a key supporting role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of IT projects. You'll gain valuable experience working across multiple workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities
• Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables
• Track project progress and help ensure key milestones are met
• Coordinate communication between internal teams, clients, and suppliers
• Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and logs
• Monitor risks and issues, escalating where appropriate
• Support resource planning and allocation
• Assist with quality assurance, testing, and validation processes
• Contribute to project close-out activities and lessons learned

About You

• Strong interest in building a career in IT Project Management
• Basic understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, or software development
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site environment
