Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking a driven and ambitious Junior IT Project Manager to join a dynamic and fast-paced team based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to kick-start or develop their career in project management within the Security and Defence sector.
You'll work closely with experienced Project Managers and senior stakeholders, gaining hands-on exposure to the full project life cycle while contributing to the successful delivery of critical IT projects.
The RoleAs a Junior IT Project Manager, you will play a key supporting role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of IT projects. You'll gain valuable experience working across multiple workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities
- Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Track project progress and help ensure key milestones are met
- Coordinate communication between internal teams, clients, and suppliers
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and logs
- Monitor risks and issues, escalating where appropriate
- Support resource planning and allocation
- Assist with quality assurance, testing, and validation processes
- Contribute to project close-out activities and lessons learned
About You
- Strong interest in building a career in IT Project Management
- Basic understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, or software development
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site environment
