Salary: £45,000 – £65,000 (depending on experience)
About the Opportunity
Sanderson is partnering with an emerging workflow and AI orchestration consultancy working at the forefront of public-sector modernisation. This fast-growing company delivers secure, cloud-native software solutions that transform how government and national security organisations manage data, automate processes, and deliver critical services.
They’re now looking for Full Stack Developers (from early-career engineers to experienced senior developers) to join their expanding delivery team. You’ll play a hands-on role in designing and building scalable, event-driven applications, contributing to architecture decisions, and shaping both the technical direction and culture of a rapidly scaling consultancy.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java Spring Boot and React
- Build microservice-based systems with a strong focus on scalability and resilience
- Work with modern technologies including Kubernetes , AWS , and Azure
- Contribute to workflow and orchestration solutions using Camunda and BPMN
- Design and optimise data structures and queries in PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Collaborate closely with business consultants, product owners, and architects to translate complex requirements into elegant, secure software solutions
- Support the implementation of DevOps and CI/CD practices to improve automation and delivery
- Engage with clients and internal teams - applying strong communication and consulting skills to influence outcomes and share expertise
- Help grow the engineering culture: mentor others, contribute ideas, and lead by example in a collaborative, low-ego environment
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot) and React
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of microservice architecture and domain-driven design
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms , ideally AWS and/or Azure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills - comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Motivated, adaptable, and proactive mindset with an enthusiasm for working in a dynamic start-up environment
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Camunda and BPMN modelling
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines , infrastructure-as-code , and DevOps automation
- Experience working in or delivering to public-sector or secure environments
- Understanding of agentic AI , workflow automation , or process optimisation
- Existing SC or DV clearance (or eligible to undergo vetting)
Security Clearance Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for national security clearance (DV) .
To meet this requirement, applicants must:
- Be sole British citizens (dual nationality not permitted)
- Have not spent more than 30 consecutive days outside the UK in the past 10 years
- Have no criminal record
- Have no significant financial irregularities (e.g. bankruptcy or unresolved debts)
