Azure DevOps/Architecture Consultant

Rate - £550 - £650 Inside IR35 Duration - 6 months initial Location - Bristol (Twice a week on site)

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric and Azure specialist to take ownership of a critical platform programme that is already well underway.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working at both strategic and technical levels. You'll begin by reviewing an existing deployment and release framework, assessing the current architecture and shaping the roadmap to completion. As the programme progresses, you'll become increasingly hands on, leading the build, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of an established Microsoft Fabric deployment and release programme.
• Review existing solution design, architecture and delivery approach.
• Assess the current framework and identify improvements to ensure scalability, security and operational effectiveness.
• Lead the design and implementation of Azure based deployment and release processes.
• Drive adoption of best practice across cloud engineering, automation and platform management.
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver a robust and repeatable release capability.
• Support the ongoing development and enhancement of the platform as requirements evolve.

Required Experience:

• Strong experience designing and delivering solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
• Deep understanding of Azure cloud services and platform architecture.
• Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code approaches using Terraform and Bicep.
• Experience working with Entra ID and Azure security principles.
• Strong background in DevOps, cloud automation and release management.
• Ability to review existing technical solutions and provide clear recommendations for improvement.
• Comfortable operating in both architecture and hands on engineering capacities.
