QA Chapter Lead - Data Tribe

- Up to £72,000 with a fantastic bonus/share scheme

- Fully remote (1/4 visits to South Wales)

An opportunity for an experienced QA leader to drive best practice, lead high-performing teams, and shape quality engineering across data-focused Agile squads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and line manage QA engineers, supporting career development and performance
  • Define and implement QA strategy, standards, and best practices across squads
  • Provide technical leadership across test automation, ETL, and microservices testing
  • Champion shift-left, test-first, and risk-based testing approaches
  • Design and oversee scalable test automation frameworks and coding standards
  • Support Agile delivery, including backlog refinement and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with governance, security, and regulatory standards

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience leading QA or technical test teams within Agile environments
  • Strong hands-on background in test automation at some stage in career
  • Demonstrable experience delivering ETL testing solutions
  • Mandatory experience testing microservices architectures
  • Strong technical knowledge of Python, Java, and TypeScript
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern testing tools (eg Jira, Confluence)
  • Cloud experience (GCP preferred; AWS also considered)
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and conflict resolution skills

Technical Environment

  • Tech stack: Python, Java, TypeScript
  • Cloud: GCP (preferred), AWS exposure beneficial
  • Data & pipeline tools: Dataflow, Composer, DAGs, ETL frameworks
  • Architecture: Microservices and data platforms

Desirable

  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerised environments
  • Exposure to secure software development practices
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
