Solution Architect/Senior Solution Architect/Technical Solution Architect - Java/Kafka - Hands on

• £600 Pay - Outside IR35 - 4 Days per week on site in London Bridge
• 6 month initial contract

We've partnered with a genuinely exciting organisation who are building a greenfield Bank, as part of this they are implementing a whole host of new platforms and technologies. For this role, we're looking for a hands on/technical Solution Architect with Java and Kafka to drive forward the end-to-end architecture fors RTL & Payments Transformation, ensuring cohesive design across Payments, Reconciliation, KYC, Cash Management, Monitoring, and Billing using an event-driven architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own solution architecture and HLD across workstreams
• Define event-driven patterns (Kafka, streaming, async)
• Manage cross-domain dependencies and integration
• Provide governance, design approvals, and stakeholder engagement
• Collaborate with architects and offshore teams
• Ensure NFRs (scalability, resilience, security, compliance)
• Lead design workshops and manage architecture roadmap

Primary Skills:

• Solution architecture & HLD design
• Event-driven architecture (Kafka, streaming)
• Microservices, APIs, cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Payments domain (SEPA, SWIFT, Faster Payments, ISO 20022)

Secondary Skills:

• TOGAF/architecture governance
• CRM (Dynamics), billing, monitoring systems
• Cross-domain integration
• Stakeholder and vendor management

Experience:

• 10-15 years overall, 5+ as Solution Architect
• Experience in large banking transformation programs
• Exposure to Payments, KYC, Billing, Treasury, Operations
• Onshore-offshore delivery leadership
