Rate - £550 - £650 Inside IR35
Duration - 6 months
Location - London (once / twice a week on site)

A unique opportunity for an experienced Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) professional to help shape the responsible adoption of AI across a complex enterprise environment.

This role sits across technology risk, security governance and emerging technologies. You will lead on Responsible AI governance, ensuring AI solutions are deployed safely, transparently and in line with organisational risk appetite while enabling innovation and business value.

Working closely with technology, security, legal, risk and business stakeholders, you will establish practical governance frameworks, assess AI and technology risks, support assurance activity and help build organisational understanding of Responsible AI principles.

The Role:

As the Responsible AI lead within the wider Technology GRC function, you will:

• Develop and maintain Responsible AI governance frameworks, standards and controls.
• Review AI use cases and conduct risk assessments covering areas such as fairness, transparency, explainability, privacy, security and human oversight.
• Embed AI risk management within broader technology risk and governance processes.
• Support the design, implementation and operation of effective governance and assurance activities.
• Produce meaningful risk reporting, metrics and management information for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
• Contribute to technology risk management activities across IT, data, cyber security and third party suppliers.
• Support internal audits, external reviews and regulatory assurance activities.
• Assess supplier and third party technology risks, including AI related risks introduced through external services.
• Track remediation activities and drive continuous improvement across governance processes.
• Help develop policies, standards and procedures that support effective technology and AI governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a subject matter expert for Responsible AI governance.
• Provide risk based guidance to stakeholders adopting AI technologies.
• Conduct governance reviews and risk triage activities for new and emerging technologies.
• Define, maintain and test governance controls and assurance requirements.
• Maintain evidence and audit trails to support compliance obligations.
• Monitor technology and AI risk exposure and report on control effectiveness.
• Support risk register management and risk appetite monitoring.
• Coordinate responses to audit findings and assurance actions.
• Deliver awareness sessions, guidance and education to improve AI risk literacy across the organisation.

About You:

You will have a strong background in Technology GRC, Cyber Security Governance, Technology Risk, Operational Risk or a related discipline, with a genuine interest in emerging technologies and Responsible AI.

You are likely to bring:

• Experience working within Governance, Risk & Compliance, Technology Risk or Information Security functions.
• Knowledge of technology governance frameworks, controls and assurance practices.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and supporting risk management activities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage technical and non technical audiences.
• Experience producing governance reporting, metrics and management information.
• Understanding of audit, compliance and regulatory requirements within technology environments.
• Experience developing policies, standards and governance documentation.
• Knowledge of third party risk management principles.
• Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience supporting AI governance, AI risk management or Responsible AI initiatives.
• Knowledge of emerging AI regulations, standards and governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with technology risk, cyber security and data governance practices.
• Experience working within regulated environments.
• Exposure to assurance tooling, compliance monitoring or technology risk platforms.
