Business Analyst

The Business Analyst is a senior role responsible for leading complex analysis initiatives, setting strategic direction, and delivering transformational change within a defined business area.

Acting as a key advisor to the Head of Delivery and senior stakeholders, the role translates business requirements into clear, actionable solutions while ensuring alignment between business goals and technology delivery

The Business Analyst is responsible for developing and governing analysis frameworks and standards, ensuring all initiatives align with organisational strategy and deliver measurable business outcomes.

The role also provides leadership of the business analysis function, including line and discipline management, to support the successful delivery of the change portfolio

Key responsibilities

  • Lead analysis of complex business challenges and opportunities, identifying solutions that deliver measurable value
  • Shape business strategy through insights, recommendations, and thought leadership
  • Lead, develop, and manage the Business Analysis function, driving best practice and continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across delivery, business, and cross-functional teams
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to elicit, define, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements
  • Act as the key link between business and technology teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment
  • Support the development of business cases, process models, customer journeys, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure end-to-end traceability and alignment of requirements across the delivery lifecycle
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and deliver effective, fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Support solution evaluation, vendor selection, and implementation activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and data flows
  • Drive adoption of best practice tools, techniques, and methodologies
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes
  • Support resource planning and allocation across the Business Analysis function, including hiring when required
  • Promote a culture of delivery excellence, continuous improvement, and strong engagement across the change function
  • Define and embed best practices for analysis processes, deliverables, and tools across the end-to-end delivery model
  • Ensure adherence to risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures, including reporting incidents or breaches
  • Promote customer-focused principles and organisational values
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation
  • Role supports hybrid working, with appropriate home working setup required
