Chapter Lead – CIAM (Fully Remote)
Location: Fully Remote
Salary: £60,000 - £72,000 plus Generous Bonus Scheme
Our client, a leading insurance company, are looking for a Remote-Working, experienced Chapter Lead to build and lead the CIAM engineering chapter, set technical direction, and ensure secure, scalable solutions are delivered consistently. Identity is a critical capability, supporting high‐volume customer interactions across multiple web and mobile platforms. The role is a newly created Chapter Lead position, focused on Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), where you will build a team of engineers, which you will then lead and mentor, while also contributing at a senior technical level to solution design and delivery, working closely with product, architecture and wider technology leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Build, lead and grow a CIAM engineering chapter
- Line manage, coach and mentor engineers across multiple squads
- Own recruitment, onboarding and retention of CIAM technical talent
- Set and uphold engineering standards, practices and governance
- Act as senior technical authority for authentication and authorisation solutions
- Ensure CIAM platforms are secure, performant, scalable and compliant
- Drive performance management, progression and development frameworks
- Enable squads through technical guidance, decision support and problem solving
- Champion a culture of engineering excellence, transparency and continuous improvement
Skills and experience
- Strong experience in CIAM / Identity & Access Management
- Hands‐on background with Auth0, Okta, Ping Identity or similar platforms
- Proven experience as a technical leader within software engineering
- Background in mentoring, coaching or line management
- Deep understanding of secure system design across web and mobile
- Experience operating within regulated, governance‐led environments
- Solid grasp of Agile delivery, CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Confident communicator, comfortable influencing across senior stakeholders
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence and Azure DevOps
